Ean Bricknell is a trombonist and rising senior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts with extensive experience in both jazz and classical performance settings. Throughout high school, he has participated in advanced ensembles including Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble I, and small-group jazz combo, while also contributing as a soloist and arranger.
Ean has earned selection to Florida's All-State Jazz ensembles for five consecutive years, spanning both middle school and high school divisions. He has also performed in Douglas Anderson's pit orchestras for Hadestown and On the Town. His festival appearances include the Sarasota Jazz Festival, where he performed with Terrell Stafford, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, and the Monterey Jazz Festival as a member of the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra.
In recognition of his artistic achievement, Ean was named a 2026 YoungArts Winner and participated in a YoungArts Lab in Los Angeles focused on artistic development and collaboration. He has also attended nationally recognized summer music programs, including the Brevard Jazz Institute and the Skidmore Jazz Institute.
Ean was a member of the Douglas Anderson Jazz Combo when the ensemble earned First Place in the Small Jazz Combo (Performing Arts High School Division) category for the 49th Annual DownBeat Student Music Awards.
Ean plans to pursue a degree in music and continue developing his skills as a performer, arranger, and educator.
